Enrichment Programs

We are delighted to begin the school year with a rich selection of on-campus enrichment programs in music and movement. These opportunities enable students to discover new passions, develop skills, and increase their confidence while having fun. Our programs support the whole child—nurturing creativity, physical development, and self-expression while inspiring joy and embracing the opportunity to continue learning.

Instrumental Program

The TRIS Instrumental Program offers private, on-campus lessons in piano, violin, guitar, and flute for students of all levels—from beginners discovering their first notes to advanced students progressing to the next level.

Led by experienced instructors, the program emphasizes strong technical skills, musical expression, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Capoeira

Capoeira (pronounced ka-poo-eyh-rah) is a vibrant Afro-Brazilian art form that weaves together martial arts, acrobatics, dance, percussion, and song.

Through Capoeira, children not only develop physical coordination and strength but also learn cooperation, teamwork, goal-setting, leadership, and confidence.

We are excited to bring back Capoeira at TRIS with ABADÁ-Capoeira San Francisco. Professor Jabuti and Mr. Thad Dunning lead weekly classes for children ages 3–12 throughout the school year.

Gymnastics

We are proud to partner with Fitness In Transit, led by Heather Baer, to bring gymnastics and joyful movement to TRIS students.

This program builds body confidence, coordination, motor skills, strength, flexibility, and a love of movement.

Each class begins with a warm-up that blends age-appropriate songs and imaginative games. Students then explore tumbling, inverted work, and coordinated movement patterns, utilizing a variety of equipment to enhance their strength, balance, and skills over time.

“TRIS is an extraordinary opportunity. I value so many of the experiences that my children had as students at the school. They learned a lot about being contributing members of a worldwide community. This openness is reflected in how they relate and receive people around them. In communities outside of TRIS, my children have been recognized for their inclusivity and ability to meet others where they are. I attribute a lot of their perspectives to learning about the world and the people in it to their studies and experiences at TRIS.”

“One of the things I love about TRIS is the global community. I lived overseas for my early adolescent years and -while some of that was hard- it made me a global citizen, seeing the world from a larger perspective. I absolutely loved that my daughter had teachers from so many different countries. She was able to travel with TRIS in Elementary and Middle School, which was also a gift that I believe will always enhance her perspective in her life."
