The Renaissance International School

Toddler & Preschool Admission

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in The Renaissance International School!

We are a diverse community of students, their families, and staff. We work closely with parents and believe in communication and collaboration to serve the child's best interests. We offer rolling admissions depending on availability. Our admission process aims to inform you about our program and ensure a good match between your family's goals for your children and our school.

We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your family throughout the admissions process.

  • Toddler (Pre-Primary ages 2 -3 years)
    Preschool (Primary 3 - 5 years)

  • We enroll students year-round as long as space is available. However, your child must be at least two years old before transitioning into the Toddler (Pre-primary) Program. Please specify the date you would like your child to start attending.

  • In the week before the first official start date, Toddler and Preschool students get an opportunity to experience a transition week schedule. The transition period, which entails part-time attendance for one week, allows for a gentle introduction to the new environment. A child should be two years or older before the transition week.

The steps in the admission process include the following:

1.

Mandatory School Tour

Our year-round comprehensive school tour provides potential families with the information needed to make an informed decision. We offer regularly scheduled Open House dates by appointment. The school tour is restricted to adults and can extend for about two hours. During the visit, you can hear about the philosophy and curriculum, observe classrooms, learn about our expectations, ask questions about our program, and receive an enrollment application. You can schedule an appointment with our office to observe a classroom after completing the tour.

2.

Submit Application

After the tour, parents receive an Enrollment Application. Please complete the enrollment information and submit a non-refundable application fee ($100) to the school office. Please note that an application does not guarantee a spot in our program.

3.

Meeting with Leadership

Our office will contact you to schedule an appointment with a member of the Leadership Team. This adults-only meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know your family and for you to share your goals and get answers to any additional questions you may have. Please allow 1.5 hours for the meeting.

4.

Decision Notifications

You will be notified of the admission status within one month of completing the admission process.

5.

Commitment Deadline

Upon acceptance, you will receive an enrollment packet and a confirmation of your child's starting date. To secure placement for your child, please ensure that you submit a signed parent agreement and remit the initial fees by the due date included in the contract.

If you have any questions regarding admissions, please feel free to call our office at 510−531−8566 to speak with the Admissions Coordinator. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you soon.

“We loved having our daughter at TRIS from toddler to elementary. Our daughter has received an excellent education where she could read already at 4, and do all math operations by 1st grade, speaks 3 languages, has an incredible amount of cultural awareness, has great musical & arts foundations and practice that kids in other schools don’t achieve until they are much older. We were able as parents to find a wonderful community of like-minded parents and connect with amazing teachers who all have become part of our lives."

“Choosing the right fit for your child's school can be tricky, so listen to your gut. If you visit and can really imagine your child thriving there or, even better, if you yourself wish you were a child and could attend that school, then that is an excellent sign!"
