Hugo Brousse was born in Marseille, a beautiful city in southern France. He holds a teaching degree in French as a second language from the “Université de La Réunion”. He currently is enrolled in a distance learning program to earn his master's degree in language didactic from the same university. Hugo’s passion is fencing. He was in the French national team for many years and still trains recreationally. He also loves sailing in the bay with his friends. He joined TRIS in 2016.
Isabel Bustillos is originally from Mexico. Isabel holds a B.A. in International Relations from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a M.A. in Environment, Development and Policy from Sussex University. She comes to TRIS after having worked for ten years at Ashoka’s Youth Venture, a global program that promotes youth leadership and social entrepreneurship. She has mentored hundred of students around the world to develop their social ventures. In addition she has dedicated much of her life to working on Environmental issues in Mexico and here in the United States. She joined TRIS in 2017.
Hella Tsaconas grew up in the East Bay. She earned a BA from the University of Southern California in Gender Studies and a MA from the Department of Performance Studies at New York University based on her research on elite women's boxing. From 2014 to 2017, Hella taught undergraduate courses spanning feminism, anti-racism, and critical theory at NYU. She has also worked in academic editing and publishing. She enjoys biking Oakland with her family and she is a lifelong ballet dancer. Hella is delighted to bring her passion for teaching and learning to the TRIS community in the fall of 2018.
