Assistant Head of School - Elementary and Middle School
Rosario Toward was born, raised and educated in Mexico City, Mexico. She graduated with a Bilingual Elementary Teaching Certificate and worked in several private schools in Mexico City prior to shifting her attention to the Montessori Method. She took her first Montessori course in Bergamo, Italy. She graduated with an AMI elementary diploma, in 1971. Upon graduation, Rosario married and moved to Miami, Florida, where she was one of three Montessori teachers, at the elementary level, in the state of Florida. After a few years of working in Florida, she moved with her family to Mexico to direct one of the largest Montessori schools in northern Mexico, with 350 students ranging from 2.5 to 15 years of age. Years later, and upon returning to Florida, she continued working in various Montessori schools as a teacher and trainer and as a school consultant and conference presenter for the American Montessori Society. During those years, she continued her Montessori studies and obtained her Primary and Assistants to Infancy diplomas. Rosario has founded and owned Montessori schools and has been a firm believer of “education for life”, taking students, as young as 6 years of age, to different countries to immerse themselves in the different cultures.This is Rosario's 5th year at TRS.
Assistant Head of School - Pre-primary and Primary
Jonathan Wolff earned his B.A. degree in Secondary Education from Temple University. He subsequently began teaching at-risk youth in Philadelphia. Early in his career, Jonathan read several books on the Montessori philosophy and quickly recognized the power of Dr. Maria Montessori's work in human development. He went on to study with Mother Isabelle Eugenie, one of Dr. Montessori's first students, and earned his Early Childhood Credential through the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Jonathan then commenced his career as a Montessori educator at one of the first Head Start Montessori Centers in the United States.
Jonathan is a member of the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the International Montessori Council (IMC). He serves on the IMC Board of Directors. This is Jonathan's second year at TRS.
Pre-Primary and Primary Coordinator
Susan Wondrasek is an AMI Montessori guide Certified for teaching children two through seven years of age. She is a specialist in geography and art. Susan has been with The Renaissance School for 16 years teaching at the Pre-Primary, Primary and Lower Elementary levels. For the past six years she has been working as the Pre-Primary and Primary Program Coordinator and Consultant. Susan is an enthusiastic student of the Redirecting Children’s Behavior Program and has attended several courses.
